Hermitage / Donelson / Opryland
Hermitage is a neighborhood located in eastern Davidson County. Once a rural area, Hermitage is now a thriving district with a highly developed network of retail stores and typical suburban houses. Fishing and canoeing draw locals to Long Hunter State Park, which also features 20 miles of hiking trails.
Hugging the Cumberland River, suburban Donelson is home to the famed Grand Ole Opry country music hall and the adjacent Opryland resort and shopping malls. A few hip Southern eateries and craft beer pubs dot Lebanon Pike, and a seasonal Friday farmers’ market draws crowds for artisanal eats and live music. A greenway trail bisects sprawling Stones River Bend Park. Cooter’s museum celebrates “The Dukes of Hazzard.”
